Description:
As a storm rages off the Oregon coast, a nun plunges from a cliff to her death. A convent burns to the ground, killing all within... And the family of the dead nun mysteriously vanishes.
Now, a century later, a young woman who runs a bookstore with her mother begins to dream. In her dreams, something is beckoning her to make a journey. She hears a whisper from the blackest part of a fruit-cellar long forgotten, and then, a scream that echoes across a hundred years of silence, across the fabric of time where the past meets the present.
Soon she is drawn to a seaside mansion and finds out a child is missing. What seemed to be a whimsical journey with her friends suddenly turns wrong and gives power and meaning to the whispers and visions that haunts her mind. Something is waiting for her and there will be no escape. She will have to face the evil that calls to her in words that only she can hear.
With the help of her psychic friends, she must solve a century-old mystery before the evil that has lured her to the mansion crosses the barrier of time and claims her, body and soul, forever...
Qvamp says: The plot of this book was good, but the writing was very choppy. Scenes would suddenly change, characters would transform randomly from one page to the next, and the exciting moments of the plot were hurried over as though to get them done with quickly. But considering how few lesbian ghost stories have any sort of horror element in them, we'll take what we can get. Virtually every character in the book was a lesbian, which shows again how books with many characters that are all the same gender are difficult to follow. |
