Description:
What a surprise it was for young Chadwick Schaeffer Bellingham to discover that he was now the young master of an estate. But, even more of a surprise was in store for him when he met the other residents. It seems that either insanity or psychic powers run in his family. Not that it matters which, since someone wants him dead and has the power to make it happen.

But who to trust; the powerful butler, the handsome gardening boy, or either of his cousins? Someone at the estate is out to kill him, and worse, this person has the power to read and control his mind.

Qvamp says:

An old pulp novel with both horror and mystery qualities. Until the end, we are never sure 'who done it', or if anything was even done.

Though fairly tame by today's standards, this would be considered a horrific pulp. The general premise includes an evil witch who has convinced another character that he is a vampire. The strongest in her family, who has the ability to sense other's thoughts, she has the ability to completely control the senses of those around her. Making them believe they see and feel what she wants them to feel, and controlling their very actions.

While the gays do narrowly win in the end, this novel provides a very strong message at how easily we can turn against each other when we are unsure of what to do.
