Description:
After selling a meadow to a London businessman, an upper-class family finds he wants to turn it into a tourist attraction. To get this started, a week-long 'medieval faire' has been scheduled.
But the faire has its own politics with an unpopular 'King' who is in danger of being ousted by a scheming 'Duke'. But when the Duke succumbs to a poisoned fig pastry, Simon finds any number of suspects who wanted the man dead.
Qvamp says: This is fourth in the series of Simon-Kirby mysteries, and the best one to date. As in the others, Simon-Kirby is a gay vampire detective. These books are a light-hearted read. They tend to be fun, but with two-dimensional characters, and no way for the reader to solve the mysteries themselves. The vampire nature of the main character is not integral to the plot. |
