Description:
Reportedly made for $300, this now-quite-tame avant-garde extravaganza became a cause celebre when it was seized by New York City police at its premiere showing and eventually banned. Filmed in murky black and white, this underground classic, thought of by many as a masterpiece of camp, is a loosely edited, semi-homage to Hollywood B actress Maria Montez which features an array of vampy transvestites, hermaphrodites, drag shows, a sexually ambiguous vampire, a drugged-out orgy and a beefy cunnilingual rapist.
