Description:
The chilling, arousing, and ultimately moving memoirs of an undead-- but all too human--soul. Bowen's Rafael, a red-blooded male with an insatiable hunger for the same, is the perfect antidote to the effete malcontents haunting bookstores today. Diary of a Vampire marks the emergence of a bold and brilliant vision, firmly rooted in the past and present.
Qvamp says: In general, I would categorize this more as an S&M fantasy novel which happened to involve vampires than a vampire fantasy. It was, however, a finalist for the Bram Stoker award. Overall the story captured your attention. My only problem with it was that the vampire's powers were not consistent. Problems that could easily have been solved early in the story were not until an ability that the vampire knew it had was revealed. |
