Susie also has a gay uncle that factors in to the plot and we also find out in passing that one of the football players is in love with another one.
A number of encounters in this show are fairly homo/trans-phobic. A few to the point of seeming out-of-place in a modern TV series.
s1e1 - Susie is harassed by students wanting to know her 'sex'. The school responds in the most queer-phobic way possible.
s1e3 - Warlock Ambrose meets new interest Luke, during a funeral for his ex.
s1e4 - Luke and Ambrose have their first date. We meet Susie's uncle Jesse.
s1e6 - Jesse's demon attacks Jesse for being gay and Susie for being a boy/girl.
s1e8 - Susie finally meets her trans ancestor Dorothea. Dorothea recognizes Susie's true nature.
Luke and Ambrose's relationship deepens.
s1e9 - Left alone in the Headmaster's office, Luke and Ambrose explore their relationship. Though interrupted by their classmates, no one shows signs of embarrassment or concern.
Susie starts to learn more about her non-binary nature. While Aunt Hilda chastises her two bullies for the torment, she recognizes that one is in lust with the other.
Luke professes his love for Ambrose, though possibly with the help of a love potion.
Rosalind's grandmother continues to see Susie for who she is.
