This show is much more comedy than horror, and demons, damned souls and the Devil are in every episode, though not really scary.
The show includes a gay couple who are revealed to be demons. However, they introduce us to 'good demons' who are trying to get back into heaven. By the end of the show, one member of the gay couple is the only demon to have succeeded.
Interestingly, by doing this the show actually states that gays are not evil at all, and are not against God's will in any way.
Sam, Sock, and Ben move into a condo together. While Sam is assigned to track down an elusive and unseen soul of a serial killer, they guys meet their new neighbors, Steve and Tony, who ask them over for a home-cooked meal.
Sam tells Sock and Ben they can't be friends with Steve and Tony anymore, which leaves Sock depressed because he has become so used to having Steve and Tony take care of him.
A pair of demons attempt to make a deal with Sam to lure The Devil into a trap, and Sock becomes jealous when someone else asks Josie out on a date.
Andi discovers who Sam's other boss is.
The Devil tells Sam that there is a leak in hell because the escaped soul that Sam sent to him keeps returning to Earth.
Sam is targeted by Tony and the rest of the rebellion demons because they suspect that Sam is the unnatural offspring of Satan himself.
After Sam catches another escaped soul, a female vampire, he, Sock and Ben find themselves in the possession of the soul's infant daughter. Sam gives the baby to the demon Tony to raise it.
The Devil tasks Sam into getting a spoiled and obnoxious rich guy, named Grant, to sign a contract selling his soul to Satan. Unfortunately, Grant is much too clever for the incompetent Sam, and manages to avoid all Sam's attempts to get him to sign on the dotted line of the contract. Nina reveals to the guys that she's been attending a 'redemption workshop' for demons lead by Tony whom are seeking redemption to ascend into Heaven.
The Devil lands Sam a new job of being an intern in a high-powered corporate office. He hopes to groom Sam more for ruling the world and shows him what the corporate life is all about. Taking Sam to the 75th Floor of the building the Devil shows him where demons work towards the Apocalypse.
Steve is working as a guardian angel and helps Sam figure out how to break the deal with the Devil. But Steve wasn't honest with Sam and ends up making Sam lose the contest for a 'good' reason.
