At first, Lewis was delighted by the evil fallout from the objects. In time, he reneged on the deal. Lewis then tried to lock away his cursed collection in the one place on earth where they are harmless - the vault in his basement. Quickly after this the Devil came for him.
Micki Foster and Ryan Dallion, Lewis' niece and nephew, inherited the antique store from their 'Uncle' Lewis. Their legacy was a surprise. Eager to return to their own lives, they sold off the remaining antiques at bargain prices. Only then did they discover The Manifest, a dusty, leather-bound book listing the cursed items, the date of sale, and the buyer's name, as well as a set of newspaper clippings detailing their powers.
Jack Marshak, an old friend of Lewis', had discovered something of what he was doing, and vowed to stop him. Together, the three agreed to dedicate their lives to undoing the harm they had done - to seek out the evil objects, and return them to the safety of the vault. Needing a base of operations, and having to stay close to the vault, they moved into the store, re-christened it Curious Goods, and opened for business.
