The sexuality implicit in vampirism is made overt in this flashy contemporary vampire tale. Miriam is beautiful, sophisticated, and centuries-old. Continually lonely, she finds suitable human lovers, male and female, with whom to share her blood and her life. Unfortunately, these companions are not real vampires and cannot survive forever. Miriam's current lover, John Blaylock, is decaying and Miriam chooses Sarah, a research scientist, as her next companion. Hopefully Sarah is the key to end Miriam's loneliness.
